Malaysia Airlines to fly A350-900 by 2017

Our national carrier, Malaysia Airlines shared that it has ordered four brand new Airbus A350-900s aircraft under lease agreement.

From understanding that the new Airbus planes will be used for Kuala Lumpur - London (Heathrow) route in year 2017. Furthermore, these order will allow standby aircraft for any scheduled maintenance and enabling future network expansion.

9M-MAC flew across Hong Kong International Airport

Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) also indicated that A380s are due for scheduled maintenance at the beginning of the second quarter this year, which will mean an average of one A380 aircraft being out of commission for the remainder of 2016.

As of Jul 2018, all A350-900s are used for two high capacity routes; London-Heathrow (twice daily) and Tokyo-Narita (twice daily).
